FESTIVAL GUIDE
Saturday, August 1st
7:45am – Dodge City Days “Saddle Up” Bike Ride -
Waters True Value Parking Lot
A road ride with
various distances to accommodate riders of all ages and experience
levels. Registration and the start/finish line will be in the Waters
True Value parking lot. Refreshments provided at the start/finish line
and approximately each 10 miles for the longest ride. Distances range
from 5 miles to 40 miles. All riders must wear helmets. There is no
charge but donations will be accepted to cover the cost of
refreshments. Join with family and friends for a great Dodge City Days

9am-5pm - DODGE CITY DAYS ARTS, CRAFTS & THINGS SHOW
- Downtown Dodge City
Bring your family
downtown to the Dodge City Days Arts, Crafts & Things Show at 9am and
enjoy the finest crafts around. There will be food, music and fun for
the whole family. There will be vendors from all over the United States
to show off their wares. This is the first day of a two-day show. For

10am – DC SHRINE CLUB KIDDIE PARADE

Boot Hill Parking Lot
DC Shrine Club Kiddie
Parade is a short parade through downtown Dodge City for children ages
12 and under. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd,
and 3rd place in 3 different groups, individual, small group
and large group; plus there will be a grand prize winner! Registration
begins at 9am at Sacred Heart School parking lot. The kids will end up
at Boot Hill parking lot with drinks being given to all participants.
Awards are presented at the end of the trail. For more information and
rules call Paul Lehmkuhler at 620-430-1133. Must be registered by
9:30am to be judged.

10am-3pm - CARNEGIE FOR THE ART’S “KIDS ART”
- Carnegie Center
Kids of all ages are
invited to have their faces decorated with images of flowers to horses
in the garden of the Carnegie Center for the Arts on Saturday, August 1,
beginning immediately after the Children’s Parade. In the lower level
classroom of the Carnegie, children of all ages are invited to
participate in creating several small art projects. Carnegie volunteers
will assist children in completing art projects to take with them. A
popular event is the “trail mix”. Children decorate a small sack and
create their own trail mix from a variety of ingredients. Get a break
from the sun and enjoy the fun at the Carnegie Center for the Arts.
10am-5pm – DODGE CITY DAYS 2009 CLASSIC CAR SHOW
- Wright Park
See
classic cars from all over the country. You choose the best classics
with the People’s Choice Award. Games and prizes all day. Awards will
be handed out at 4pm. Admission to the show is a lapel pin.

12 NOON - HIGH NOON GUNFIGHT -
Boot Hill Museum
Turn a page back in time and experience one of the largest Old West
gunfights in the world. The iron will of the Dodge City Lawmen will be
pitted against the rough and rowdy cowboys in search of whiskey and
women. The world famous Boot Hill gunfighters and alumni gunfighters
meet up the showdown of the year and it’s FREE to the public. See you
at the High Noon Gunfight. Gates open at 11:45 and space is limited.
Sorry, pets are not allowed.
12pm-2pm - MISS RODEO KANSAS AND TEEN PAGEANT STYLE SHOW

Enjoy a style show
with Miss Rodeo Kansas and Teen Pageant participants. Tickets may be
purchased in advance at Dodge City Roundup Offices at 608 S. 14th,
Long’s at 2207 Central Ave., or by calling Maureen Flax at 620-227-7315.
3pm – MISS RODEO KANSAS AND TEEN KANSAS MEDIA INTERVIEW
- Village Square Mall
Contestants will be doing mock media interviews and answering questions
for fun without being judged.
7pm – MISS TEEN
RODEO KANSAS CORONATION/MISS RODEO KANSAS CORONATION- Dodge City
Roundup Arena
On this night at the
Rodeo you will see Miss Rodeo Kansas and Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas
crowned! Miss Rodeo Kansas Queen coronation immediately follows the
Teen coronation. They will be available throughout the rodeo for
autographs.
7:45pm – DODGE CITY ROUNDUP PRCA RODEO – A WRANGLER MILLION DOLLAR TOUR
RODEO, SILVER SERIES/WRANGLER NIGHT/TOUGH ENOUGH TO WEAR PINK

Rodeos across the
nation have started Tough Enough To Wear Pink (TETWP Campaign) to
show their support for breast cancer awareness. Everyone attending the
rodeo is encouraged to wear pink. There will be “pink” items available
for purchase. We’ll be passing around pink cowboy hats through the
stands for donations. Through sponsor contributions and local support
of pink items purchased, we hope to exceed last year’s amount of over
$20,000. Donation will be made to the local Circle of Hope Cancer
Survivors group.

CITY DAYS TURNS INTO DODGE CITY NIGHTS - Sante Fe Depot
10pm- 1:30am- CENTRAL STATION STREET DANCE

Dustin Evans and the
Good Times will be performing outside. C.S. deejay will pump up with
yet another venue of music inside. Can’t beat that! |
